Moped Build-Off

Moped Build-Off, for the Third Time!
It has already become a beloved tradition. For the third time, the “German Räng-Däng-Däng Build-Off” pits moped against moped
For three years now, the CUSTOMBIKE Show in Bad Salzuflen has also been a home for the large community of moped tinkerers. The exhibits on display are in no way inferior to the “big bikes.” On the contrary, the moped area is bursting with ingenuity, technical know-how, and plenty of fun. And at the heart of this two-stroke extravaganza, the official build-off will take place again in 2026, when—for the third time—the motto will be: Welcome to the “German Räng-Däng-Däng Build-Off,” team versus team, moped versus moped. And this time, it’ll be a family affair.
Stepping into the ring in 2026 will be the “EdelschmiedeTöffli Keiler Kette” team, led by Jan Bruns and Thomas Watson—mechanics who are already seasoned Build-Off veterans. After a razor-thin finish in 2025 that resulted in a shared victory, the North Germans are determined to claim the trophy all for themselves this time. They plan to do so by customizing a Peugeot TSA—a rather rare platform for customization. But of course, there are challengers who have other ideas.
Michael and Tine Thiele, a father-daughter team, are taking on the team from north germanys. As the team “SimSalaSons of PondoRondoRacer,” the two have plenty of experience modifying these little wild ones, they’ve already built over twenty custom mopeds. The crowning achievement is set to take place in Bad Salzuflen; the Thieles are relying on the customer-proven Simson S51 as their base. It remains to be seen which direction the conversion will take. So excitement is guaranteed when it’s Peugeot versus Simson, North Germany versus East Germany, man and women versus machine.
On November 28, everyone at the live event in Bad Salzuflen will find out who will be crowned the winner of the third “German Räng-Däng-Däng-Build Off” – the audience decides –
